Sci-Tech Israel

The Union for Reform Judaism’s Sci-Tech Israel offers teens a hands-on learning experience in Israel - a living laboratory where science and technology meet the Jewish past, present, and future.

Israel plays a fundamental role in our Jewish story, and its history and presence as the Jewish State is a strong component of Reform Judaism. However, Israel is also home to many different faces, voices, and stories, as well as individuals and organizations, that have shaped the science and technology landscape of Israel and entire world. From the invention of instant messaging, to pioneering the Intel chip, to medical treatments for Parkinson’s disease, Israeli contributions can be seen in every corner of our society.

We are working with our partners in Israel to create an exciting and engaging experience for our teens. The itinerary above is subject to change and a final itinerary will be confirmed and posted in the Spring for our families. Our experienced partners on the ground in Israel are experts in both Jewish and Israel education, creating a meaningful and rich Jewish experience, where teens will arrive home with an increased sense of connection to and pride for the land and people of Israel and its story as a global innovator.

We know that a summer adventure to Israel is expensive, and we want to help you find financial support so your teen can have this unbelievable experience. Most families are able to find funding through local sources. We recommend that you start by reaching out to your synagogue and clergy. Additionally, below we list information we have about funds available through Jewish Federations, Bureaus of Jewish Education, and other organizations. If you learn of additional funds through other organizations, please let us know so we can share with other families.
